Building Estimator
Our Client, an award-winning Shopfitting project group, is looking for a Building Estimator to join their Western Australia team (Welshpool). They have been in business for over 20 years and are considered one of Australia’s leading independent joinery and fitout providers.

Requirements:
- 3-4 years experience as a building estimator
- Previous experience estimating fit-outs specifically
- Previous experience estimating projects such as hospitality, retail stores, restaurants etc.
- Previous experience on Project Pac & Shop pak
- Strong IT skills
- Plan swift experience
- CAD experience – beneficial
- Interpret design concepts
- Analytical, Lateral thinker
- Sales vision, Negotiation skills
- Financial understanding
- Understand Construction methods
- Good interpersonal skills, good persuasive skills
Responsibilities
Obtaining Quotes
- Prepare project material/labour costings and update supplier/contractor pricing
- Collate and review project drawings for errors
- Obtain, review, and enter sub-contractor quotes
- Ensure sub-contractors adhere to company terms & conditions and address any queries
- Recommend alternative materials where necessary
- Conduct site visits
- Prepare OneNote reports
- Enter and manage maintenance jobs, following through on procedures
- Prepare, deliver, and revise job quotes
- Liaise with customers for sales clarification and follow-up on quotations
- Enter prospect details, including decision-makers and payment contacts, into the database
- Obtain project drawings and negotiate specifications with clients
- Pass job details to the estimator and advise prospects on the estimation timeline
- Make formal submissions and follow-up appointments
- Ensure signatures on contracts and pass payment schedules to accounts
- Collect job deposits and maintain correspondence files
- Introduce the Construction Manager to the client's project manager
- Manage relationships with network partners and project managers for sales opportunities
- Obtain signed and stamped construction drawings
- Initiate deposit invoicing and secure signed contracts
- Prepare and email the job file, including all project documentation
- Handover complete documentation to production
- Ensure all client expectations are clearly noted
- Answer staff queries
- Assist in providing client answers for management
- Answer phones
- Obtain quotes as required
- Prepare and enter variation costs, then print and send
- Obtain written approval for variations
- Notify relevant departments once approved
- Convert and process approved variations
- Call the client to discuss the variation before sending official notification
- Obtain information from production & site on projects
- Make changes to estimating from reviews
- Obtain supplier pricing as best practice
- Obtain and develop networks on national sub trades
- Manage all I.T. folders
- Maintain company library in P/Pac and update
- Maintain Job folders and Email folders
- Review P/Pac update notes & report investigate
- Maintain & update / create parametric cabinets
