About Our Client
We are recruiting on behalf of a prestigious global energy company. The Merger & Acquisition Department at our client’s organization is responsible for executing M&A transactions originating from various business lines and approved by corporate management.

Role Overview
As a Business Development Analyst, you will support the screening, planning, analyzing, and development of new business ventures. You will be integral in executing mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, and divestments. The role involves evaluating transaction proposals, managing execution, conducting valuations, due diligence, negotiations, and structuring transactions leading to final deal signing and closing.

This role is based in Saudi Arabia and requires relocation. Our client will cover all relocation costs, including visas, plane tickets, travel allowance, housing subsidy, and medical insurance.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficient in MS Office tools.
  • Fluency in English (additional languages are advantageous).
  • Solid understanding of commercial business models in various sectors, particularly oil & gas.
  • Experience in risk reporting and dashboard management.
  • Understanding of portfolio management principles.
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals.
  • Certifications such as CFA, CMA, or PMP are advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, or Finance from a recognized international program.
  • MBA or equivalent qualification is a plus, though not required.
  • 10-15 years of experience in business development, including at least 5 years in M&A transaction execution.
  • Experience with IOCs/NOCs, corporates, international consulting firms, accounting firms, investment banks, or private equity firms.
  • Strong M&A background with extensive experience in financial valuation, modeling, due diligence, commercial negotiations, and transaction structuring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed due diligence on target companies with support from relevant internal organizations.
  • Perform valuations of target companies using various methods and evaluate their business plans.
  • Independently handle business proposals, draft Non-Binding Offers (NBO), develop negotiation strategies, and formulate commercial terms.
  • Validate proposals through stage gates, prioritize business proposals against investment criteria and portfolio strategy.
  • Manage transaction execution, including selecting and onboarding advisors.
  • Oversee stakeholder management, working with internal organizations, consultants, and potential partners.
  • Lead investor selection activities and coordinate with subject matter experts to draft Memorandums of Understanding/Letters of Intent.
  • Provide administrative direction in the development and review of legal documents.
  • Ensure compliance with process stage gates and approvals, and manage business portfolio.
  • Support post-acquisition integration activities and other miscellaneous duties as directed.
