Payroll Officer

Sunshine Coast, QLD.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Accounts Team of an iconic Australian business as a Payroll Officer. Our client is looking for a dedicated and professional individual to help manage the payroll process and support the team in maintaining the financial integrity of the company.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Ability to interpret and apply fair work legislation and modern awards.
- Strong teamwork and adaptability.
- Respect for confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Knowledge of Deputy and Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license and completion of an Australian Federal Police Criminal Record Check.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly pay runs for up to 500 employees across multiple departments.
- Manage employee profile changes, including salary adjustments, title changes, and departmental transfers.
- Process bonuses, WorkCover, salary sacrifice, and termination payments in line with legislation.
- Handle various leave payments in compliance with regulations.
- Provide payroll advice based on relevant awards and HR policies.
- Collaborate with the HR team on onboarding and contract changes.
- Stay updated with changes in payroll legislation and apply it accurately.
- Conduct regular audits and generate payroll reports.
- Process monthly superannuation, payroll tax, and child support payments.
- Assist with accounts payable, receivable, and cash reconciliation when required.
